CIVIL WAR WOMEN - Their Roles and Legacies

Civil War Women: Their Roles and Legacies is a work of non-fiction written to document and illuminate the achievements and struggles of the women of the Civil War period. The author dispels the myth of feminine delicacy and incapability by profiling women of the time. The story chronicles the trials and tribulations and the solutions designed by the women of both the North and South. It characterizes the pre-war years and the changes in the women's world post-war. Parallels are drawn between the women of the Civil War and their sisters on the frontier during the same period of time, as well as our future beloved "Rosie the Riveters". Little known achievements of Black Women, some free, some slaves, some blessed with fortunes, are presented. The story concludes with a discussion of the changes in society and the new roles of women after the war. Trish will participate in Meet The Author book signings. Please call 609-698-0964 if you would like to schedule an event. This book pairs well with "Civil War Women: Their Roles and Legacies" and "Women Soldiers and Spies of the Civil War".
